If you are used to installing doors with standard overhead door closers, you might be forgiven for thinking that Astra jamb-mounted concealed closer looks like hard work. But nothing be further from the truth. Just remember these fundamentals and you can’t go wrong.

Specifying door closers? Here’s what you need to know about jamb-mounted concealed closers.

It is no secret that door closers are an essential part of any fire door. They play a pivotal role in fire safety, and also ensure that people can open and close doors without too much trouble. However, very few people understand just how door closers work. We know what they do, but, how?

We’ve all seen it. Someone struggling to get through a door with a closer so vicious that it seems determined not to let them through. Or a fire door that doesn’t latch because the closer isn’t strong enough. That’s why choosing the right sized closer for a door matters so much – if the closer isn’t right, the door won’t function correctly.

Picking the right door closer, for any door, is an essential part of any architectural project. What’s more, looking after those door closers, and ensuring they always work as they should, is an essential part of any building’s maintenance. Door closers hold more importance than they are often given credit for, so it’s important you get them right.
