Astra concealed door closers have helped make a luxe, sleek design concept become reality for the doors on a stunning residential development in Jersey. Architectural ironmongers Irontree Solutions have created bespoke door solutions for the Rocque Bay development that have fitted the designer’s vison perfectly.
Castletree Homes has designed the new development of 13 apartments and three town houses on the former site of The Shakespeare Hotel overlooking the stunning Harve des Fontaines Bay in Jersey. With outstanding sea views and private access to the beach, the apartments have been finished to the very highest standards, including the doors and ironmongery supplied by Irontree.
“The quality of the build on the project was of utmost importance and this extended to the door and ironmongery package,” says Irontree’ s Nick Levy. “We were selected to supply the complete doorset solution, managing the specification of all doors and hardware across the development. This included Astra’s 3000 Series closers since they provided a sleek, unobtrusive solution maintaining the design finish of the doors.”
Irontree supplied in excess of 200 satin white panelled doors in a range of glazed and fire-rated designs in bespoke sizes. They featured art deco door furniture in polished chrome finish to provide a high-end aesthetic to compliment the modern design of the building. All doors were factory morticed for the ironmongery and fully paint finished ready for installation on site by contractors Hacquoil & Cook.
The Astra 3000 series of fully-controlled concealed door closers are a range of ground-breaking products developed by Astra to offer all the adjustability and control of an overhead closer, even for fire doors. Concealed closers are the obvious choice in settings like Rocque Bay where visual appeal is paramount since they are not visible when the door is closed, avoiding the somewhat institutional and ungainly appearance of overhead closers.
